Challenges we solve

Common problems that slow down your workflow — and how Ratio Ready handles each one.

Halloween is a 6-week window — speed matters

Etsy Halloween sales spike Sept 1 - Oct 31. Buyers shop in waves: invitations early September, costumes mid-September, decor late September, last-minute party games mid-October. If your catalog isn't ready by Sept 1, you miss 70% of the window.

Multi-product Halloween launches are tedious

A typical Halloween shop launches: clipart bundles + party invites + costume printables + wall art prints + signage + party games. Each product needs different specs — clipart at 4096px PNG, invites at 5x7 with bleed, wall art at 5 ratios, signage at 11x14 or 18x24.

Spooky color palettes are unforgiving on cheap prints

Halloween designs lean on blacks, dark purples, oranges, blood reds — all colors that show banding and posterisation on consumer printers. 8-bit color depth + JPG compression turns smooth gradients into ugly stripes. 16-bit PNG + 300 DPI saves the look.

Last year's bestsellers need refreshing each season

Successful Halloween shops have 60-80% repeat catalog year-over-year. New designs each season + refreshed listings of last year's hits. AI upscaling rescues older lower-resolution designs to current print-quality standards.

Your workflow with Ratio Ready

1

Upload your Halloween catalog

Drop bats, ghosts, witches, pumpkins, skeletons — whatever's in your seasonal collection. Hand-illustrated, AI-generated, vector exports — all work. Validated for resolution.

2

Pick output mix per product type

Clipart batch for the spooky element library, wall art batch for the seasonal print bundle, invite-size for the printable invitations. Run all 3 jobs in one session.

3

Process the season's catalog

Each product gets resized, DPI-stamped, named in series order. AI upscaling fills the gap on older designs that fall below current print standards.

4

Download per-product ZIPs and list

Get organised ZIPs per product type. List directly to Etsy with the auto-generated listing PDFs and watermarked previews. Ship the whole catalog Sept 1.

When you’d use this

Four common scenarios where Ratio Ready saves the most time:

  1. Launching a 30-piece spooky clipart bundle for September. 30 hand-illustrated Halloween elements — bats, cauldrons, jack-o-lanterns, ghosts. Drop all 30, target 4096px PNG with transparency, get back a full clipart bundle ZIP with listing PDF in one job.
  2. Refreshing last year's witch wall art series with 5 new ratios. Your 2025 witch wall art series sold well. Re-run the original masters through Ratio Ready in 5-ratio mode (8x10, 11x14, 16x20, 18x24, 24x36). Same artwork, expanded format coverage for 2026 buyers.
  3. Adding kids costume party printables (5x7 invites). Your shop expands into kids party printables. Drop your invitation designs, target 5x7 with 0.125-inch bleed, get back print-ready files plus matching mockup previews for the Etsy listing.
  4. Upscaling AI-generated spooky illustrations to print resolution. AI tools generate Halloween illustrations at 1024-2048px. For wall art at 18x24 you need 5,400+ pixels. Ratio Ready's alpha-aware ESRGAN upscales 4x while preserving the spooky line work.

Common mistakes

Mistakes I’ve seen (and made) that cost real time and refunds:

1. Saving spooky gradients as JPG (visible banding)

Black-to-purple gradients show banding under JPG compression. The smooth fade becomes visible color steps. Always save Halloween designs with gradients as PNG (lossless) or 16-bit PNG for the deepest gradients.

2. Forgetting bleed on party invitations

5x7 invites need 0.125-inch bleed on all 4 sides — final file is 5.25x7.25 at 300 DPI. Submitting at exactly 5x7 means the printer trims into the artwork. Always design with bleed.

3. Using oversaturated orange-on-black on apparel

DTG printing washes out colors by 10-20%. Vibrant orange Halloween designs that look great on screen come out muted on shirts. Boost saturation 10-15% for designs primarily sold on apparel.

4. Launching the catalog after September 15

Etsy Halloween peak shopping is Sept 1 - Sept 25. Late launches miss the bulk of the window. Aim to have the full catalog live by Aug 30; refresh and add through September. Don't wait for October.

5. Forgetting that Halloween designs are seasonal stock

Halloween listings disappear November 1 (Etsy de-prioritises them) and reappear August 1 next year. Treat the catalog as recurring inventory — keep masters organised, regenerate via Ratio Ready each season as ratios/specs evolve.
